We don’t know yet whether there are infinitely many primes p with p+2 also prime. Tons are known, like (3,5), (5,7), (11,13), but nobody has proved there are infinitely many.

Big nerd progress though: mathematicians proved there are infinitely many primes within some bounded gap, just not specifically gap 2 yet
