You don't pay state/federal taxes on a visa card either, and you're not locked into one single store by using it. Most stores (at least in Canada) still make you pay taxes when using a store gift card... it's the law since buying the card costs no taxes.

Ah, noted. (Not sure PP reports to Revenue Canada, but good to think about.)
I solved the Visa issue of losing dimes, quarters, and even dollars but topping off my self-checkout purchases at the grocery store. Only way I could think of since PP no longer accepts less than $5 for transfers.

Some online bill payment platforms allow for .05 payments without fees as well
